What are the five hidden fairy tales in IU’s “Cruel Fairy Tale”?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7F98s1CkW4endofvid

[starttext]

The hidden story behind IU’s “Cruel Fairy Tale,” a track included in her latest mini plus album release, has been catching the attention of both the press and fans.

Songwriter Kim Eana teased on her Twitter, “In the lyrics, there are five hidden fairy tales!”

Once she was bombarded with questions on what those five were, she replied, “Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, and the Little Mermaid. All of you, please have fun guessing the remaining one.”

She hinted, “‘By stepping on the tears I shed one by one’ means ‘Please come to find me, as I’ve left prints of my tears around.’ This is referring to Hansel and Gretel, when they leave bread crumbs to find their way back.”

The rest were up for the netizens to find, and some have speculated that the lyric, “And when the clock rings 12, I’ll awake from my dreams. Amidst the blessings of others, we will be dancing together“, to be in reference to Cinderella.

Netizens commented, “The idea is wonderful and very amazing,” “How can such beautiful lyrics be made out of fairy tales,” and “It fits so well with the song’s atmosphere.”

Look for the fairy tales!

LYRICS: Cruel Fairy Tale

When this night passes
You will come to wake me
By stepping on the tears I shed one by one

When that door opens
The light will reach me
And forever after
I will live happily

When the clock rings 12
I’ll awake from my dreams
And amidst the blessings of others
We will be dancing together

I breathe (You will never know)
I am alive (Everyone fails to love)
I can believe in at least that truth

Nothing lasts forever, nothing really matters

Maybe because the road that leads to me is perilous
You are lost
But one day, I will be smiling
as I fall asleep in your arms

I cannot go (I will never know)
In case you cannot find me (Everyone tells me so)
In case this wait bursts like a bubble

Was IU’s music video about incest?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UogbEVTc6AYendofvid

[starttext]

After releasing the music video for her title track, “The Story Only I Didn’t Know,” earlier today, IU has become swept up in a minor controversy over the music video’s content.

The MV begins with actress Park Bo Young conversing with an anonymous figure in a psychiatric hospital. She states, “My body feels weird lately. It doesn’t feel like my body. Isn’t the weather really weird today? On days like this, I feel like someone might come to find me.”

Yoonsang then appears, and Park Bo Young demonstrates the depth of their relationship by kneeling before him and crying.

The anonymous figure then re-appears and asks, “Your father passed away, right?” Park Bo Young replies, “They all say that he’s my father, but he’s not.”

Most have interpreted the music video to mean that Park Bo Young was hospitalized due to her grief over the death of her father. Netizens added, “Is it appropriate to handle the topic of incest in a music video for a minor?” and “This is shocking, and I can’t help but cringe.” Others commented, “It’s just content created to emphasize the sad atmosphere. Let’s try not to react so sensitively.”

Super Junior was honored with the distinction of having 2010’s “Best Selling Album”, as determined by the ‘2010 Gaon Chart Awards‘ in an awards ceremony on February 9th.

The boys released their fourth full album, “Bonamana“, last year and it managed to sell a total of 200,193 album units to come in first in terms of physical album sales.

The group’s leader, Lee Teuk, expressed on stage after receiving the award, “We’re very happy to receive such a big award at a fair and authoritative awards ceremony. If America has the Billboard Charts and Japan has the Oricon Charts, Korea has the Gaon Charts. Every year when we go on promotions, we personally experience how it feels to be the boom of the Hallyu Wave not only in Asia, but all around the world. We will work harder in our activities.”

During the ceremony, Gaon Charts’ official offline sales data was revealed for the first time since the Recording Industry Association’s aggregates were suspended in the latter half of 2008. Online charts were also revealed for the very first time.

The Gaon Charts is the national record chart of South Korea and compiles data from online digital sales and from offline sales (both domestic and overseas).

Meanwhile, Kang Seung Yoon and G.NA were awarded the male and female rookie awards respectively.
